What is the deadline to register?
The registration deadline for each term is posted on the Project Jumpstart web site under Calendar of Events. The application and registration forms must be received in the ODU Admissions Office by this date. A postmark by this date is NOT sufficient. Forms must actually be received in office by the posted deadline.

What is the difference between AP and Dual Enrollment?
Dual Enrollment credit differs from AP in that the grade is not solely based on one test that is taken at the end of the course. For Dual Enrollment students, the grade earned for the course is the grade reported on the high school transcript as well as the Ohio Dominican University transcript.

Not all students accurately demonstrate what they have learned by taking standardized tests. Students who plan to take the AP exam have only one opportunity to demonstrate success. Project JumpStart students are graded on all assignments throughout the term of the course and receive a course grade for their cumulative classroom effort, without the pressure of a one-time test.

Students who successfully pass the AP exam may have the course requirement waived by the institution the student attends; however, it may not reduce the number of hours that the student needs to graduate from that institution. Credit earned through Project JumpStart fulfills the course requirements and also applies toward the total number of credits an institution requires for graduation in most instances.

What resources are available to dual enrollment students?
All Project Jumpstart students can obtain an ODU Student ID which provides full student privileges for the library, sporting events, and other campus student activities. Students can take advantage of the on-line resources on our Career Development website. Workshops and tutors are also available through the Academic Resource Center .

How do students drop a dual enrollment course?
Students who need to drop a course must contact both the high school and Ohio Dominican University. Remember, students are concurrently enrolled in both systems. Students can drop the course from ODU but remain enrolled in the high school course. The student will need to complete and submit the Project JumpStart Drop Form prior to the drop deadline. Students can print the form and fax it to the Registrar. The fax number is listed on the document. Each term the Calendar of Events will list the last day to drop with a refund and the last day to drop a course with no refund.

How do students transfer a course after high school graduation?
If the student attends Ohio Dominican University after graduation, the application of dual enrollment credit towards degree requirements will be automatic.

If attending elsewhere after graduation, the student must request for transcripts to be sent to the college or university he or she plans to attend. An official ODU transcript may be requested from the Registrar's Office in Erskine 145 or by completing the Transcript Request Form
