New Residence Hall

On August 30, Ohio Dominican held a combination ground blessing/groundbreaking ceremony for its newest residence hall - Lynam Hall. The ceremony followed the University’s annual Convocation and preceded The Mass of the Holy Spirit. ODU Interim President Bishop James A. Griffin, Fr. John Boll, O.P., Director of Campus Ministry and ODU students, faculty and staff participated in the blessing and groundbreaking.

The new student housing will complete a quad with Aquinas and Siena, on the east side of Sunbury Road, north of Fitzpatrick Hall, and south of Aquinas Hall.

Ohio Dominican University’s continued growth, with its existing four residence halls exceeding 90% capacity, has spurred the need for additional student resident space.  The $6 million dollar, 34,000-square-foot residence hall will have three floors, with 152 beds, in a suite-style design. It will also feature a community room, study lounge and other amenities.

The project, being designed by Moody Nolan, Inc. and built by Messer Construction, is scheduled to be completed in August 2008 for fall occupancy.
