Academic Resource Center

The Academic Resource Center is dedicated to helping students succeed and excel in their studies. The ARC addresses the needs of all Ohio Dominican students.

To facilitate student success, the ARC provides a variety of study skills workshops and help sheets, as well as tutoring in math, writing, and subject area courses.

Specialized Services

Content Tutoring / Test Preparation - Spangler 304
Tutoring is available for most ODU courses. Students may schedule an appointment at a time that fits their needs. The ARC also provides test preparation materials and instruction for the Praxis, NTE, GRE, GMAT, MCAT, LSAT and TOEFL.

Tutoring in writing and mathematics is available in our laboratories on a drop-in basis. No appointment is necessary.

The Math Space - Spangler 206A
Math specialists are available to assist students in any math course ODU offers, including Math for Teachers, Calculus, and Algebra. Tutors equip students with tools and strategies to become successful independent learners. Statistics tutors are available during Math Space hours, or may be scheduled by appointment at the convenience of the tutor and the student.

The Write Place - Spangler 206B
Writing specialists are available to assist students in the writing process, including thesis development, organization, punctuation, and MLA questions. In addition, the writing specialists are knowledgeable about the ODU humanities curriculum. Visitors to The Write Place can expect lively conversation and collaboration in these one-on-one sessions.
