Commencement takes place in Alumni Hall. Tickets are free but required for family and guests to attend.
Spring 2017 Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 13.
  • Ticket Information

    Each graduate will receive up to 7 tickets. If extra tickets become available, they will be distributed during the Alumni reception that takes place after graduation rehearsal, on a first-come, first–served, basis with a limit depending on how many extra we have. 

    You must be present and have your ID with you to receive extra tickets.  

    If you do not need all of your tickets, please turn them back in to the Student Development Office so that they may be given to graduates who request more. 

    The tickets you were allotted but don't pick up will be given out as extra after commencement begins at 11 a.m.

    Do not lose your tickets as they cannot be replaced.  

    The doors to Alumni Hall will open at 10:30 a.m. on the morning of graduation.

    In accordance with the Fire Codes, guests will not be permitted to stand along the back or in the aisles of Alumni Hall. 

    Children ages one and under do not need a ticket. However, if you are planning to use a baby carrier, you will need a ticket as the carrier will take up a space

    There is no reserved seating except for guests with special needs. 

    Watch Live! 

    If you can't make it to the ceremony or you don't have a ticket, the ceremony will be streamed on TV's in the Griffin Student Center and the Alumni Hall Community Room. 

    You can also watch it via live streaming on your own computer.

  • Ticket Pick-Up
    Tickets for the Fall Commencement ceremony will be available for pick up between May 4 - 12.

    You will need a Photo ID and you must sign for your tickets. We CANNOT give your tickets to someone else; please do not ask us to do this. We do not mail tickets in the event they are lost in the mail and cannot be replaced.  You will be asked to complete a brief career survey prior to picking up your tickets.

    Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.

    Additional Pick Up Times:
    If you are unable to pick up your tickets at the times listed above, you may also pick them up:
    • Thursday evening, May 11, after rehearsal in the Fireplace Lounge of the Griffin Student Center.
    • Saturday morning, May 13, at the ticket table in the Community Room of Alumni Hall.

  • Parking & Directions

    General parking on campus for graduation will be in the GOLD Lot. Please note that parking is limited and everyone is encouraged to carpool for this event.

  • Seating for Family & Guests

    Guests must be in their seats by 10:55 a.m. as the procession begins at 11 a.m.

    Guests arriving after 10:55 a.m. will not be allowed to enter the gym until the procession has ended. 

    Guests arriving late will be directed to the back bleachers. 

  • Guests with Special Needs

    If you or a guest need disabled parking, make sure your state-issued disability placard is visible or your vehicle has state-issued disability license plates. This allows the Columbus police officers to direct you to the correct parking area. 

    If you or a guest need floor seating due to a wheelchair or not being able to climb stairs, please call (614) 251-4595 to request special seating arrangements. 

    Space may be limited so we ask that only one person sit with the guest needing the special arrangements. 

    If you or a guest are hearing impaired, please call (614) 251-4595 to request seating near the interpreters who will be signing the ceremony.

  • Photography

    Please note that guests will not be permitted to approach the stage to take pictures during Commencement. Pictures may be taken from the seating area only.

    A professional photographer from Graduation Foto will take a picture of each graduate receiving his or her diploma.

    Information on how to purchase their photos with be sent to graduates following the ceremony.

  • Local Hotels & Restaurants
    Graduate and families - for your convenience we've put together a list of places to stay, shop and eat near campus while you are in town.

    Be sure to ask hotels for any special graduation discounts on room rates, event space rental for parties, and more. Mention you are in town for Ohio Dominican University graduation.
