What did Dominican Scholars DO last year?

What current Scholars are saying about the program:

"I have felt that my experiences have helped give me something to talk about during my education classes."

"With the extra classroom experience I feel a lot more prepared to be a teacher."

"The scholars program has enhanced my experience at ODU because it has given me extra advice into what I should be doing as a pre-service teacher to get the best education possible and make myself the most marketable."

Scholars must maintain a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA each semester and actively participate in programming.
First year Education majors will be invited to apply to the program for their Sophomore year, if they achieve a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA by the end of Spring Semester.

The Dominican Scholars program is selective and only students that complete the application will be considered. Minimum qualifications include a 3.0 high school GPA and a 24 ACT score. Future Scholars have a strong academic record, extensive extracurricular and community activities, and want to connect what they learn in the classroom to the 'real world'.
