    Preparing Future Leaders in Education 

    The Dominican Scholars Program provides enriching opportunities for personal and professional development to an exceptional cohort of aspiring educators.

    Learn by Doing:  

    • Participate in community building and leadership activities 
    • Build partnerships with alumni, faculty and staff

    • Scholars housing
    • Rural Urban Collaborative - field placement and institute in Fall and Spring semseter
    • Observe - The School for the Blind, The School for the Deaf, charter schools
    • Uncover Community Resources:  COSI, the Columbus Zoo, the Ohio Historical Society
    • Tutor students at The Charles School
    • Faculty and Peer mentoring
    • Dinner Speaker Series - featuring faculty and current educators
    • Membership in professional associations and attend conferences

    Scholars must maintain a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA each semester and actively participate in programming.
    First year Education majors will be invited to apply to the program for their Sophomore year, if they achieve a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA by the end of Spring Semester.


    The Dominican Scholars program is selective and only students that complete the application will be considered. Minimum qualifications include a 3.0 high school GPA and a 24 ACT score. Future Scholars have a strong academic record, extensive extracurricular and community activities, and want to connect what they learn in the classroom to the 'real world'.
