Join the ODU Honors Program
ODU's Honors program selects talented and motivated students to participate each year.
How to Apply
Incoming first year students must meet the requirements below.
- Have a minimum 3.7 high school GPA
- Complete an application
- Submit one essay
- Submit one teacher recommendation
While the Honors application deadline for fall 2024 has passed, Honors applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Transferring students must meet the requirements below, and have at least four semesters remaining at ODU to apply.
- Have a minimum 3.5 GPA
- Complete an application
- Submit a letter of recommendation
Columbus State (CSCC) Students
If you are currently enrolled in the CSCC Honors program, in lieu of filling out an
application, please email honorsprogram@ohiodominican.edu to set up a meeting with Honors Program Director Dr. John Marazita.
Current student can apply to the Honors Program if they have at least four semesters remaining and meet the following requirements.
- Have a minimum ODU GPA 3.5.
- Complete an application.
- Submit a recommendation from a professor with whom you have studied for a least one semester.
Current Program Members
Students admitted to the program remain in good standing by:
- Completing a 15-credit hour Honors curriculum
- Maintaining a 3.50 minimum GPA
- Completing a student-designed honors project under the direction of a faculty mentor and in consultation with the Honors Director
- Being an active and engaged member of the ODU Honors Community
