  • About ODU's PATRIOTS Program
In 2018, Victory Media recognized ODU's PATRIOTS Program as the fourth best in the nation for veterans and the best in Ohio among private universities with enrollment of less than 10,000 students.

The PATRIOTS Program has been helping military veterans and their families achieve their educational goals for more than twenty five years. The program offers free academic and mental wellness counseling to veterans to ensure their smooth transition from combat to classroom to career.

The program is reinforced by an active advisory committee made up of faculty, veteran alumni and student veterans.

The entire University community celebrates the service and sacrifice of our veterans twice each academic year with Veterans Appreciation Day linked to home football and basketball games.

ODU is a full participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program and has a full time liaison with the Veterans Administration.

The program is led by a retired Army Major General.

  • ODU Named Top 10 Gold Military Friendly School for 2018

For the ninth consecutive year, Ohio Dominican University has been named a Military Friendly School by Victory Media. ODU was named a Top 10 Gold School, ranked fourth in the United States and first in Ohio among small universities.

The 2018 Military Friendly Schools list honors the top colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.

Ohio Dominican first launched the PATRIOTS Program 20 years ago to meet the educational needs of returning Vietnam veterans. Through PATRIOTS, veterans can achieve their academic goals, pursuing either an associate's, bachelor's or master's degree.

The University reintroduced the PATRIOTS Program in response to the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008, also known as the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
