Welcome new Panthers! Orientation is the kickoff for your college experience. You’ll meet other students, register for classes and experience life at Ohio Dominican.

Orientation Session


You'll need to register for one of the following orientation weekends.

  • June 8 & 9 (Registration is now closed for this weekend) 

  • June 29 & 30

  • July 13 & 14

What to Expect

All orientation sessions are two-day events, held on a Thursday and Friday. The student and parent schedules for our orientation sessions can be found below, which feature links to our workshop sessions, campus map and downloadable PDFs of the schedules.  
  • Student Schedule

    During orientation, students will get to know their classmates, talk to peer advisors about what to expect during their first year and take care of academic details before classes begin.

    Day 1
    Check In (Fitzpatrick Hall Patio) 4:30 - 6 p.m. 
    Dinner (Griffin Student Center, first floor) 5 p.m. 
    Orientation Kickoff (Erskine Hall, Matesich Theatre) 6:30 p.m. 
    Student Connection (Alumni Hall Community Room) 7 p.m. 
    Peer Advisor Time (Various Locations) 8 p.m. 
    Late Night Recreation (Alumni Hall) 9:30 p.m. 
       
    Day 2
    Mass (Sansbury Hall, Christ the King Chapel) 8 a.m. 
    Breakfast (Hamilton Hall) 8 a.m. 
    Workshop Sessions: choose two (read workshop descriptions) (Griffin Student Center) 9:30 a.m. - 10:35 a.m.
    Financial Aid Presentation with Parents (Erskine Hall, Matesich Theatre) 10:45 a.m. 
    Key Return / Checkout (Erskine Hall, Residence Life Office, room 145) 11:25 a.m. 
    Lunch with Faculty (Hamilton Hall) 11:35 a.m. 
    Academic Division Meeting & Registrar's Office Presentation (St. Albert Hall) 12:30 p.m. 
    Peer Advisor Time (Various locations) 2 p.m.
    Closing Ceremony (Griffin Student Center, rooms 258-60) 2:30 p.m. 

    Ohio Dominican staff will be taking photos and video during Orientation. Please let the staff member know if you would prefer not to have photos or video of you taken.
  • Parent Schedule

    During ODU orientation, parents receive information about tuition, billing and financial assistance, academic advising and registration, health and safety, and valuable support services for their student.

  • What to Bring

    Incoming students should bring the following:

    • A pillow, sheets and blanket for overnight stay
    • Overnight toiletries, towel and washcloth  
    • Notebook and pen or pencil
    • Comfortable clothing and shoes (air conditioned buildings)
    • Backpack for materials
    • Umbrella in case of rain
    • Driving directions to campus
  • Where to Stay
    Students—to get the most out of the experience, plan to spend the night in the residence halls. 

    Parents—you have the option of staying overnight on campus for $30 per person; please select this option on the RSVP form.
