Welcome new Panthers! Orientation is the kickoff for your college experience. You’ll meet other students, register for classes and experience life at Ohio Dominican.

What to Expect

  • Student Schedule

    During orientation, students will get to know their classmates, talk to peer advisors about what to expect during their first year and take care of academic details before classes begin.

    Check In (Lynam Hall) 4:30 - 6 p.m. 
    Dinner (Griffin Student Center, first floor) 5 p.m. 
    Orientation Kickoff  6:30 p.m.

    Workshop Sessions (Griffin Student Center) 9:30 a.m. - 10:35 a.m.
    Financial Aid Presentation with Parents 10:45 a.m.

    Lunch with Faculty (Hamilton Hall) 11:35 a.m.

  • Parent Schedule

    During ODU orientation, parents receive information about tuition, billing and financial assistance, academic advising and registration, health and safety, and valuable support services for their student.

  • What to Bring

    Incoming students should bring the following:

    • A pillow, sheets and blanket for overnight stay
    • Overnight toiletries, towel and washcloth  
    • Notebook and pen or pencil
    • Comfortable clothing and shoes (air conditioned buildings)
    • Umbrella in case of rain
    • Driving directions to campus
  • Where to Stay
    Students—Students, get the most out of your visit to campus by staying in our comfortable residence halls. All students will spend the night on campus whether you're planning on living on campus or commuting.

    Parents—you have the option of staying in an area hotel, commuting, or staying overnight on campus for $30 per person; if staying on campus, please select this option on the RSVP form. Parents stay in Lynam Hall which has 4 small single rooms in each suite. Rooms are not supplied with amenities over the summer. There are no TV’s  microwaves, blankets etc. You can opt to have ODU supply the linens and towels or you may opt to bring your own.
