Major: Art & Graphic Design
Graduating Year(s): 2017
Hometown: Newark, Ohio
Why did you choose to attend Ohio Dominican University? I was inspired to attend ODU after attending an exhibition at the Wehrle Gallery. I knew in an instant that I wanted to be in that building as much as possible!
Have you participated in any internships? What do you want to do after graduation? I had an internship at a gallery called The ShoeBox back in 2010, which was located in the South Campus Gateway near Ohio State. I am currently interning with ODU's Office of Marketing and Public Relations. After graduation I hope to work as an advocate for the arts in some way. This can be as a designer, at a gallery or at a school.
What is your most memorable moment at ODU? My most memorable moment at ODU so far has been attending last year's Senior Show in the Wehrle Gallery. I found the students' work to be really advanced and inspiring. What is one unique experience you’ve had at ODU that has helped you grow personally, professionally and/or spiritually? I was recently nominated for the Award for Excellence in Visual Art's, which is a high honor for an art student. The nomination has helped me put my best foot forward toward my portfolio. I look forward to seeing the finalists in 2017! The nominees represent universities located all over Ohio.
Why are you proud to be an ODU student? I am proud to be an ODU student because of the community of students and faculty. I find every person I come across to be personable and humble. There are not many campuses where you will find everyone working toward the same goals in the manner that I have found here at ODU.
