Why did you choose to attend Ohio Dominican University?
I wanted to attend a smaller university where I could get more class time with professors and get to know people better. I transferred from a larger university where I didn't have these kinds of relationships. ODU makes it much easier to get involved, make friends and learn from professors.

How do you stay involved at ODU?
I am a member of ODU's Marching Band and Concert Band, which are offered in different semesters. It's cool because in the marching band we get to play at the football games, which is a great way to be involved and support the team. In concert band, we also get to help pump up the crowd at basketball games.

What is your most memorable moment at ODU?
I really enjoyed band camp, which was held before classes started. This was my first experience at ODU, and it was nice to be able to make friends before school even started. We were together for eight hours a day for a whole week while we learned our first drill, memorized music and participated in fun activities after camp each day.

What is one unique experience you've had at ODU that has helped you grow personally, professionally and/or spiritually?
I actually think taking philosophy has helped me grow personally. I was a little unsure about having to take these courses at first because I had never taken anything like it before. Then I learned that I really enjoy reading and talking about philosophy. The classes I've taken have helped me with my reading comprehension and my professors have been great at explaining what each philosopher is talking about.

How has ODU helped you connect your passion with a purpose?
When I attended my previous school, I just felt like I was floating around—I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my future. Now that I'm at ODU, I feel confident about my future. I met with a career counselor and we chose the best major that would work with my interests. Now I am in communications and I've never felt so sure about a choice of major. (I've changed my major five times!) ODU has helped me discover how I can make a career out of what I really enjoy doing.

Why are you proud to be an ODU student?
This is such a close-knit community and I am very glad I was able to transfer here. I wish I had started here my freshman year, but I am glad I get to spend my last two years here.
