Ohio Dominican University welcomes its first class of Insurance & Risk Management majors during the 2014-2015 academic year. Courses in Business and Economics – as well as our strong liberal arts core curriculum – complement specialized courses in Insurance & Risk Management.
ODU's major in Insurance & Risk Management is driven by a gap between projected job openings and the expected pool of skilled and talented workers to fill them. Ohio has 250 insurance companies employing more than 100,000 people with an average annual salary above $50,000, according to the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services. And the Ohio insurance industry will need 26,000 skilled workers by 2020, according to a study released in 2014.
