Materials that are owned by the ODU Library or by individual instructors are kept in a special area behind the Circulation Desk for the expressed use (and limited checkout times) of those instructors' students. Usually these materials are referred to in the instructors' sylabi, and in the ODU Library website's Course Reserves menu. Physical course reserves may be checked out at the Circulation Desk, while electronic reserves are available online. When the course work is finished the materials from the ODU Library are returned to the Main Stacks, unless the instructor renews the request.
