Mission Statement

We, the staff of the Ohio Dominican University Library, support the quest for knowledge by meeting the curricular needs of the university community and providing personalized access to information while inspiring lifelong learning.

Vision

Guided by the Dominican motto "to contemplate truth and to share with others the fruits of this contemplation," the library offers many resources, services and research support to further the contemplation of truth. To achieve our mission, the library staff:

• Aims to provide easy access to world-wide information and research resources through available print, audiovisual, and electronic information resources
• Conducts instructional programs through classroom teaching support, course and subject guides, online tutorials, workshops, and individualized assistance
• Maintains close cooperation with its partners in the educational enterprises of the university--the faculty, students, and administration
• Participates in the OhioLINK consortium of member academic libraries to broaden patron access to a variety of print and electronic resources
• Strives to increase and strengthen its own collection through collaborative efforts with faculty in the selection of resources
• Supports an environment that emphasizes continuous learning
• Works to ensure the highest quality of service in all its operational activities
