Most items that circulate are eligible for renewal. Some items, however, cannot be renewed. These include items on which another patron has placed a hold, items needed for course reserves, or items that have been checked out for an extended period of time. When items near their due date, you have three renewal options:
Go to . You will be prompted to type in your name and the last seven digits of your ODU ID number (the number printed on the front of the ODU ID card). You will then have the option to view the items you have checked out, on hold, etc. Select the items you wish to renew by checking individual items and clicking on "Renew Selected Items," or renew all items by clicking on "Renew All." If the items are eligible for renewal, a new due date will appear; if the items are not eligible for renewal, a message indicating why the renewal was blocked will appear.
You may contact the Circulation Services Desk by or by telephone at (614) 251-4752 and ask to have items renewed. Be sure to have ready the title or barcode of the item as well as the last seven digits of your ODU ID number (the number printed on the front of your ODU ID card).
