If you're looking for a book, journal, or specific author, use the Library Catalog.
While today's hours are displayed in the upper right corner throughout the website, you can check our monthly calendar for more information.
There are no telephones or fax machines in Spangler for public use. However, there is a fax machine in the Mailroom in Erskine Hall that students are permitted to use for a small fee.
Rooms on campus (including Spangler Learning Center), are reserved through the university web site. For more information or to reserve a room, please visit http://www.ohiodominican.edu/Meeting_Rooms/.
Spangler Learning Center does not have a change machine. Change may be obtained from the Business Office in ER-133 during their hours of operation.
You may renew your library materials in person at the Circulation Desk or online by logging into your library account. For more information about renewing items, visit the ODU Library's Renewing Library Items.

If you owe money for fines for materials from ODU Library, OhioLINK, or ILL, the ODU Library Circulation Desk can accept your fine payments in cash, check, or money order. If you need to pay with a credit card, the Business Office will accept that form of payment.
You may have accrued non-library charges, such as for color printing, laminating, and purchases of items like CDs from the Computer Helpdesk. The ODU Library Circulation Desk can also accept these payments in cash, check, or money order. If you need to pay with a credit card, the Business Office will accept that form of payment. We can also bill your library account for later payment.
Yes. When you try to use certain parts of the ODU Library Catalog or website, such as “My Library Account” or “Make a Suggestion or Comment,” on a smartphone (iPhone, BlackBerry, Droid, etc.), you may receive a warning about an invalid “website certificate” or “untrusted connection.” It is completely safe to use any part of the ODU Library Catalog or website on your smartphone, despite these warning messages. Simply click or tap the appropriate button (“Accept,” “Continue,” “Add Exception,” etc.) to ignore the warning and continue.
These warning messages occur because of the type of website (SSL) certificate used by ODU. A Certificate is a special file on a website that allows your smartphone (or computer) to verify the identity of the website. The Certificate is created by a trusted organization, called a Certificate Issuer. Most of the time, the Issuer is automatically recognized by your device, but ODU’s Certificate Issuer, DigiCert, is unknown to some devices. Nevertheless, the certificate is valid, and any information sent between your device and the website is automatically encrypted. See Figures 1 and 2 for more information about ODU’s Certificate.
OhioLINK is a consortium of Ohio college and university libraries, including ODU Library, that shares library resources. Through OhioLINK, you can request materials from other member libraries and have them sent to ODU Library for you to pick up. More about OhioLINK can be found at http://www.ohiolink.edu/about/what-is-ol.html. The OhioLINK Library Catalog provides information about the materials available from the member libraries. Depending on the owning library's response time, the item may be received anywhere from 3-10 days from the date of request. You may check the status of your request by logging in to your ODU Library account.
You will receive an email message sent to your ODU email account when your item is available for pickup. If you you are off campus, you can check your ODU email account via Webmail.
Requested OhioLINK materials will be available for pick up at the Circulation Services Desk in Spangler Learning Center. You can also have materials sent for pickup at another OhioLINK institution; this must be done at the time you request the item. Many professors keep course materials on reserve at the library. You will need to know whether the item is part of the print reserve collection at ODU Library or whether it is on Electronic Reserve online. Then you may search our shelf reserves by course name/number or by instructor. Electronic Reserves are located in ANGEL. More information can be found in our Course Reserves FAQ.
