How Do I Select a Research Database?

There are 2 ways to select a database from the library's Articles in Databases page:

1) By database title

If you know the name of the database you need to access, use the alphabetical index on the Articles in Databases page, above the topics.

2) By general research topic

The librarians at ODU have arranged the 150+ research databases by topic and recommended the best ones for each topic.
If you're not sure which databases to choose, go to the general topic of your research. You'll find a brief list of recommended databases for your topic.

Survivor Tip: Some databases cover a wide range of topics and types of articles (newspaper, journal, etc.). Others are very specific in their coverage. To find out whether a database is the right one to use for your research, click on the icon next to the database title for a description of that database. Click here to view
