How
Do I Select a Research Database?
There
are 2 ways to select a database from the library's Articles in Databases
page:
1) By database
title
- If
you know the name of the database you need to access, use the alphabetical
index on the Articles in Databases page, above the topics.
- Just
click on the letter you need.

2) By general
research topic
- The librarians
at ODU have arranged the 150+ research databases by topic and recommended
the best ones for each topic.
- If you're
not sure which databases to choose, go to the general topic of your
research. You'll find a brief list of recommended databases for your
topic.

Tip: Some databases cover a wide range of topics and types
of articles (newspaper, journal, etc.). Others are very specific in their
coverage. To find out whether a database is the right one to use for your
research, click on the
icon next to the database title for a description of that database. Click
