When and How Do I Search By TITLE?

When:
Use a Title search when you know the beginning of a title or the full title.

How:
From the ODU Library home page, View in pop-up window click on Books. Then on the next page, select Title from the drop-down menu of the ODU Library Catalog and type your words in the search box.

Type the beginning of a title or the full title in the search box.

Example:

  • pride and prejudice
  • journal of psychology and

What if I Don't Know the Full Title or the First Word in the Title?

If you do not know the full title and are not sure what the first word of the title is, then use a Keyword search. Type in the words you do know and type AND between your words.

Example:

  • review and business and quarterly
  • rye and catcher

*Survivor Tip: Do not use a title search in the library catalog to find journal articles. You should use a Research Database to find articles.
