  • Med School Early Acceptance Program

Top high school students from Ohio can earn an assured path straight into medical school through a partnership between Ohio Dominican University and the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The ODU-to-OU Med School Early Acceptance Program will accept a limited number of outstanding freshman students each year who will be assured of acceptance into the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM), as long as they maintain the high academic standards of the agreement.

OU-HCOM is one of the top osteopathic programs in the nation and the only osteopathic medical program in Ohio. ODU is proud to be able to offer you this opportunity for admittance into the program. You will have the opportunity to follow one of the two tracks to completion:

    • Attend three years at ODU and complete your remaining credits required for an ODU degree during your first year at OU-HCOM (3+4 track).
    • Complete your degree at ODU prior to attending medical school at Ohio University’s main campus in Athens or its satellite campuses in Cleveland or Dublin, Ohio (4+4 track).

    Why Choose ODU for your
    Bachelor of Science Degree?

    • With the ODU-to-OU Med School Early Acceptance Program, you can earn your Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in as few as seven years.
    • ODU’s small class sizes allow professors to interact, instruct and mentor you on a personal level. You’ll benefit from this hands-on approach to learning as you study and master complex skills.
    • You’ll have the potential to complete the entire program in Central Ohio.
