ODU Welcomes New Job Search Platform

Ohio Dominican University will launch 19eleven, a new career services platform powered by 12twenty, on Monday, Oct. 5. The platform will replace Handshake as the University’s job board and will serve as the future platform for career fairs and employer engagement.

Named in recognition of ODU’s founding on Oct. 5, 1911, 19eleven combines an intuitive, student-centered experience with institutional pride. Students and alumni will be able to explore job and internship opportunities, connect with a global employer network, find career fairs and other events, pursue on-campus employment and experiential learning opportunities, and build professional connections through mentorship and networking.

“The decision to transition to 12twenty was driven by our university-wide commitment to creating the best possible experience for our students,” said Rachel Benway-Long, associate director of career development. “We needed a platform that is intuitive, accessible, and capable of supporting students throughout their entire career development journey while strengthening meaningful connections with employers.”

19eleven provides students with curated opportunities tailored to their interests, live walkthrough tutorials, and access to career resources in one place. The platform also connects users to a global employer network of nearly 300,000 organizations and offers data-driven tools designed to help students make informed career decisions.

For the University, the transition offers greater control of student data and the ability to proactively strengthen student and alumni engagement, improve career outcomes, and help level the playing field for graduates entering the workforce.

“Beyond its functionality, the ability to incorporate Ohio Dominican University’s branding has been an added bonus,” Benway-Long said. “We were especially excited to name our platform 19eleven as a tribute to our institution’s rich history, honoring the day and year Ohio Dominican University was founded on Oct. 5, 1911. This blend of innovation, student-centered design, and institutional pride made 12twenty the right choice for our campus community.”

Employers can also use 19eleven to create or update company profiles, post job and internship opportunities, request interviews and recruiting events, register for career fairs and networking events, and search student résumés for qualified candidates.

Students can set up an account by visiting ohiodominican.12twenty.com and logging in with their ODU single sign-on credentials. Employers may create a free account at ohiodominican.12twenty.com/hire.

Students who previously created Handshake profiles will retain access to those individual accounts, but the Career Development Center will no longer manage Handshake or have access to its support services.
