Outcomes & Careers

ODU's Graphic Design program prepares students for careers in design, communications, printing, public relations, marketing, advertising and other businesses that depend upon graphic design for effective communication. 

Students who complete ODU's Graphic Design program will be:
  • Prepared with the studio and technical skills needed to work in a variety of design fields.
  • Well versed in the design process and will understand how to use concept and research to develop effective designs.
  • Prepared for the challenges of professional practice with an understanding of the role design can play within the community and in solving problems, large and small.

Graduates will be ready for positions in large organizations or for developing smaller individual or freelance practices. Job titles include include:
