Ohio Dominican's Career Development Center helps students connect their academic studies, their strengths and their goals with a future career.
The career planning process looks different for everyone, but the key is to be actively engaged in connecting a student's interests and talents with opportunities that will develop skills and provide real world experience.
Encourage your student to do the following:
- Develop a greater understanding of their career goals by taking an assessment through the career center, conducting informational interviews, and attending lectures and workshops.
- Explore all opportunities to gain experience including internships, shadowing, student organizations, campus ministry groups, and volunteer initiatives.
- Network with a variety of people, including faculty, university staff, supervisors, parents of friend and community members.
