John Mascazine, Associate Professor of Education, has been a classroom science and math teacher of twelve years at the elementary, middle, and high school levels before studying for his doctorate degree.
His specialty is science education and the integration of mathematics and technology. His research areas of interest include: Learning Strategies / Study Habits and Twin and Multiple-birth Student learning / school experiences. He has consulted for schools and twin support organizations locally, nationally and internationally.
Dr. Mascazine has presented at local, national, and international conferences and continues to write and conduct research on issues in science education and twin education issues. He regularly attends conferences such as those sponsored by the Conference on Academic Research in Education (CARE), Ethnographic and Qualitative Research Conference (EQRC), American Association of Behavioral and Social Sciences (AABSS), School Science Mathematics Association (SSMA), National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), and International Society for Twin Studies (ISTS).
He is also active in presenting workshops for teachers and parents, and enjoys working with local schools and students. Dr. Mascazine holds a B.S. in Education from Ohio Dominican and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Ohio State University.
