Teays Valley High School, Ashville, Ohio

Why did you choose to attend Ohio Dominican University?
I picked ODU because I love how small the university is, and I felt I could get the help and attention that I need to be successful. Ohio Dominican is also close to my hometown and I like the location of the school. Also, one of my favorite teachers from high school attended ODU and she loved it; we would always talk about the school, and that really sparked my interest.

What is your most memorable moment at ODU so far?
I haven't been here very long yet, but so far it’s been hanging out with my new friends from campus and the fun things we have done together, like going to Easton and walking the trail that is located behind campus. Also going to the Dialogues on Diversity show was really funny and I learned a lot from it.

What do you want to do after graduation?
After graduation, I would like to teach. I have always wanted to be a teacher and have my own classroom, so that is my focus.

What is one unique experience you’ve had at ODU that has helped you grow personally, professionally and/or spiritually?
ODU’s small class sizes have allowed me grow close to my professors and I feel like that has helped me in many ways. Because I’ve grown close with my professors, I have been able to talk with them about my future career goals. This has helped me realize that I am on the right track. Also, Jessica Hall in the Career Development Center has been super nice and helpful.

Why are you proud to be an ODU student?
I am proud to be an ODU student because I feel Ohio Dominican is totally invested in its students and their success. I am also proud because I feel ODU strives to make the community around us better, and I love that.
