Why did you choose to attend Ohio Dominican University? I chose Ohio Dominican because I love the small class sizes and the overall size of ODU’s campus. I participated in marching band last year and it was an outstanding experience for me.
What is one unique experience you’ve had at ODU that has helped you grow personally, professionally and/or spiritually? Why? No single moment comes to mind; however, the friends and connections I have made have had an enormous impact on my life. I am so blessed to be surrounded by professors and friends who genuinely care for my success. College has been a long road for me, and having professors take time outside of class to explain something means more than one single experience.
Share an example or story of how you discovered your passion at ODU. I have been all over the board as far as trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. Coming out of high school, I was convinced that I was going to be a musician/worship leader. Jesus and music have always been my two biggest passions. However, after playing in several bands, I realized how unstable the music industry is. I attended college with no real direction until I arrived at Ohio Dominican. It was then that I started exploring business degree options. Carol Blaine introduced me to ODU’s Risk Management and Insurance program, which has been the best fit for me. While I have not at all lost my passion for music, I feel that I'm called to give back in that regard, so it will from now on be a ministry platform for me.
Why are you proud to be an ODU student? I am proud to be an Ohio Dominican student because I feel that we are all part of a community that genuinely cares for one another. I am so grateful to have faculty who constantly challenge us to grow and push ourselves to be who God created us to be.
