Exercise Science

Fraser, Michigan

  • ODU Baseball Team
  • Community service volunteer
  • Trainer in ODU’s Give Up the Gain program

Student of the Week: April 13, 2015

Why did you choose to attend Ohio Dominican University?

I chose to attend ODU because I wanted to play baseball at a small school in a big city. I also wanted to major in Exercise Science.

In addition to playing baseball, I’ve also completed many different community service projects which have helped me learned about self-discipline, time management, and how to improve myself as a person.
The ability and opportunity to attend mass on Sunday nights with other ODU students has been a very rewarding experience.

Have you participated in any internships?

I am currently participating in Give Up the Gain as a student trainer. This has been a very rewarding experience because I get to work with people to achieve their goals of losing weight and becoming healthier.

This experience has helped me prepare for the physical therapy field because it’s shown me how to work with new people and how motivate them so they work hard and achieve a goal.
After I graduate from ODU this spring, I will begin graduate studies in Grand Valley State University's Doctorate of Physical Therapy program.
What is your most memorable moment at ODU?

My most memorable moment at ODU was moving in during my freshman year and getting to meet my roommates and teammates on the baseball team.

How has ODU helped you connect your passion with a purpose?

The professors in ODU’s Exercise Science program have really helped me achieve my goals of getting into graduate school. They are all very willing to help and I have made great relationships with all of them throughout my four years at ODU.

Why are you proud to be an ODU student?

It's very fulfilling to know you are a part of a small, close-knit university.
It has been very rewarding to know there are so many faculty and staff members who are willing to help me out whenever I need it.
