Public Relations & Marketing Communications

Cincinnati, Ohio

Why did you choose to attend Ohio Dominican University?
ODU felt like home the first time I visited. I also chose ODU because it was not too close to home, and it was amazing how the staff worked with me to get me here. The Honors Program also accepted me as the first student to join as a transfer student, so that was amazing as well.

How do you stay involved at ODU?
My experience on ODU’s football team has made me a better student because of how hard we train and how we work together as a team to get through adverse situations. This has taught me that I can get through any situation as long as I try hard and dedicate myself.

Have you participated in any internships?
I currently am an intern with TJE Communications where I administer its social media marketing. That is what I want to do with my career. My internship has taught me that you can use topics that are trending on social media to reach your target audience. I found my internship through my professor, Dr. Natalie Kompa.

What is your most memorable moment at ODU?
Some of my most memorable moments have come while participating in community outreach with the football team, such as mentoring kids at the elementary schools in our area.

What is one unique experience you’ve had at ODU that has helped you grow personally, professionally and/or spiritually? Why?
One unique experience that has helped me grow was when I, along with other players on the football team, sent e-cards to a bone cancer patient named Dylan. This made me think about the opportunities I have in life and it showed me how fortunate I am as an individual. It also made me realize that not everyone is as fortunate as I am to be healthy, or has access to the same opportunities that I have. This reminded me not to take anything for granted.

Share an example or story of how you discovered your passion at ODU.
I discovered my passion at ODU when I began to take courses in Public Relations. I really enjoyed those courses, and I was so locked in and excited to wake up as a PR student. I discovered a love for public relations that is very real to me.

Why are you proud to be an ODU student?
I am proud to be an ODU student because I know the relationships I have made with teammates, coaches, faculty and staff will stick with me for the rest of my life. The ODU community is one big family; everyone is there for one another and supports each other.
