Ohio Dominican University will ring in the holiday season with a series of family friendly events as part of its annual Christmas Celebration. The below events are free and open to the public, and will take place on ODU’s campus at 1216 Sunbury Road, Columbus, 43219.
Monday, Nov. 27
“Rise Up and Follow” Presented by the ODU Chorus – 7 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel
Join the ODU Chorus as they present their annual Christmas performance.
Wednesday, Nov. 29
Holiday Art Market – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Wehrle Art Gallery
Now in its 22nd year, ODU’s Art Department invites all to purchase unique handcrafted
items made by university students, faculty and staff. This is a great opportunity
to find quality holiday gifts at student-friendly prices while supporting the talent,
creativity and skills of those in the ODU community.
Community Christmas Dinner – 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Hamilton Hall
Members of the campus and surrounding communities are invited to come together for
a complimentary Christmas dinner in ODU’s dining hall, Hamilton Hall. All are invited
to enjoy a delicious meal as we kick off the university’s annual Christmas celebration.
Visit Santa’s Workshop (Pictures and Crafts) – 5-7 p.m. in Catherine of Siena Room,
Erskine Hall
Following dinner in Hamilton Hall, families are invited to visit with Santa’s workshop
and have their picture taken with him. Children also will be able to complete special
Christmas crafts to help celebrate this time of year.
Tree Lighting Ceremony & Blessing of the Crèche – 6:30 p.m. in front of Erskine Hall
ODU’s annual Christmas celebration culminates with the lighting of its campus Christmas
tree in front of Erskine Hall and the blessing of a special nativity scene. All are
invited to join together for special remarks by President Connie Gallaher, music by
ODU’s band and choir, and prayers for a safe Christmas season for all.
