The university celebrated this significant milestone during its 119th Commencement Ceremony, held on Friday, December 12, on ODU’s campus.
The event honored the achievements and dedication of the graduates as they prepared to embark on the next chapter of their personal and professional journeys.
Sister Gemma Doll, OP, served as the commencement speaker for the ceremony. A nurse, educator, and humanitarian, she has served communities around the world, including Nigeria, Lebanon, Thailand, and the U.S. A graduate of Marymount of Kansas (BSN) and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (MSN, Nurse Practitioner), Sister Gemma served 25 years in congregational leadership and now serves as Justice Promoter for the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She also serves on Ohio Dominican University’s Board of Trustees and inspires through her lifelong dedication to service, justice, and compassionate leadership.
