The university celebrated this significant milestone during its 120th Commencement Ceremony, held on Saturday, May 16, on ODU’s campus.

The event honored the achievements and dedication of the graduates as they prepared to embark on the next chapter of their personal and professional journeys.

Nancy Recchie served as the commencement speaker for the ceremony. A historic preservationist, community leader, and Ohio Dominican alumna, she has spent her career helping communities across Ohio preserve significant historic landmarks. A graduate of Ohio Dominican College (BA, Home Economics Education) and the University of Virginia (MA, Architectural History), Nancy co-founded a preservation consulting firm and has worked on projects including the Ohio Statehouse, Ohio Stadium, the Ohio Judicial Center, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. She has also served Ohio Dominican University as a member of the Alumni Council Board and Board of Trustees and was later named Trustee Emeritus. She was honored with the ODU Distinguished Alumni Award in 2008 and continues to inspire through her lifelong commitment to preservation, leadership, and service.
