  • How to Apply

    Submit your application online through the Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA).

    Be sure to review and complete all of the admission requirements for ODU's PA Program.

  • Application Deadline

    For the class applying to start in August 2023:

    • The Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) opened on April 28, 2022
    • The deadline to submit your online application through CASPA was Oct. 1, 2022

    For the class applying to start in August 2024:

    • CASPA will open for 2024 applications on April 27, 2023
    • The deadline to submit your application through CASPA is Oct. 1, 2023


  • Deposit

    Once an applicant is accepted to the program, a $500 deposit must accompany the acceptance reply.

    A second deposit of $1,000 must be received by the program to secure a seat in the program. This second deposit is due approximately three weeks from date of acceptance. The applicant will be notified of the exact date in the acceptance letter. 

    These deposits will be applied to the first semester's tuition, however, they are non-refundable should the student fail to enter the program for which he or she has been accepted.

  • Program Cost
    The approximate cost for ODU's Physician Assistant Studies Program is calculated annually and subject to change.

    Tuition for the 2022-2023 academic year is $939 per credit hour.*

    The total estimated cost for ODU's PA Program is $95,530, including approximate fees and costs listed below.

    • Students are responsible for all travel expenses (e.g., housing , travel and food) to and from their assigned clinical rotation site.***
    • NCCPA PANCE Certification Exam: $550****
    • State Licensure Fee: $404*****
    Total Estimated Cost for Clinical Phase: $25,219

    In addition to the tuition and fees listed above, students in ODU's PA Program are required to pay transportation and housing costs for the duration of  their program attendance.

    *$939 per credit hour is subject to increase each academic year – calculated cohort based price for incoming class.

    **Students are responsible for additional payment if further screening is deemed necessary by the clinical site.

    ***Students are required to complete 11 clinical rotations. All students will be expected to travel to various rotation sites. While the majority of the clinical sites are in state, some may require travel out of state. Rotation assignments are determined by the program.  

    **** PANCE is the Certification Exam that is taken post-graduation – It is required to practice as a PA-C.

    ***** State Licensure Fee will vary and is paid post-graduation – The above is based on State of Ohio Licensure Fee.
