Ohio Dominican University’s Wehrle Gallery will feature a new exhibit, “Just as Life Itself: New Work by Julie Abijanac,” from Feb. 14 to April 5, 2020. A free opening reception will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14. This is one of several exhibitions during the 2019-20 academic year that celebrate the gallery’s theme of “The Year of the Body.”

The Wehrle Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free. The gallery is located on ODU’s campus at 1216 Sunbury Road, Columbus, 43219.

Abijanac is a highly acclaimed sculptor whose work deals with her personal struggle with cancer. She creates digital drawings and paper or fiber sculptures that explore the systematic development of cancer cell metastasis in the human body. These meticulous studies become three-dimensional forms in space, safely removed from the human body.
