The Ohio Dominican University social work program satisfies the academic requirements for Social Worker licensure at the Bachelor’s degree level set forth by the State of Ohio. ODU graduates who complete the social work major are eligible to sit for the Ohio Licensed Social Worker (LSW) exam. Ohio social work licensure applicants must complete a background check. Detailed licensure information is available at the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Counselor Board website. A summary table containing the licensing requirements for practice in a state other than Ohio or in a U.S. territory can be accessed through the Association of Social Work Board’s social work regulation database.

The Ohio Dominican social work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Social work regulatory boards that regulate practice at the Bachelor’s level generally require that social work degrees must be obtained from programs of social work that are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE), or other nationally recognized accrediting agencies.
