Amazon has selected Ohio Dominican University to serve as an education partner for its Career Choice Program. The program gives Amazon’s hourly employees the ability to enhance their educational credentials free of charge while also giving them an opportunity to learn new skills for career success and advancement at Amazon or elsewhere.

At Ohio Dominican, Amazon employees are eligible to pursue any of its available undergraduate certificates, associate degrees or bachelor’s degrees through this program. To view a complete list of ODU’s academic offerings, visit ohiodominican.edu/Academics.

Amazon provides a variety of education and upskilling opportunities, including full college tuition, industry certifications designed to lead to in-demand jobs, and foundational skills such as English language proficiency, high school diplomas, and GEDs. The program is available to Amazon hourly employees who have been employed for 90 days. Employees have access to annual funds for education as long as they remain at the company, and there is no limit to the number of years they can benefit.

Launched in 2012, the Career Choice Program is currently available in 14 countries, and more than 50,000 Amazon employees have participated since its inception. In the United States, Amazon is investing $1.2 billion to upskill more than 300,000 employees by 2025 to help move them into higher-paying, in-demand jobs.

Amazon’s Career Choice Program has a rigorous selection process for third-party partner educators, choosing partners that are focused on helping employees through their education programs, assisting them with job placements, and offering education that leads to career success.

“As a leader in education, including adult-focused education, I am proud that Ohio Dominican University has partnered with Amazon’s Career Choice Program to help its talented and passionate workforce prepare for successful careers in today’s rapidly growing industries,” said ODU President Connie Gallaher. “We look forward to welcoming Amazon employees to Ohio Dominican University, giving them access to the skills, knowledge and experiences they need to enhance their credentials and advance their careers, and helping them connect their passion with their purpose.”

“We’re looking forward to Ohio Dominican University coming on board as an education partner for Career Choice, adding to the hundreds of best-in-class offerings available to our employees,” said Tammy Thieman, Global Program Lead of Amazon’s Career Choice program. “We’re committed to empowering our employees by providing them access to the education and training they need to grow their careers, whether that’s with us or elsewhere. We have intentionally cultivated a partner network of third-party educators and employers committed to providing excellent education, job placement resources, and continuous improvements to the experience. Today, over 50,000 Amazon employees around the world have already participated in Career Choice and we’ve seen first-hand how it can transform their lives.”
