Nominations will remain open until noon on Wednesday, April 13.

This annual event recognizes leadership in action across campus, as recognized by the campus community. The Selection Committee will review all nominations and choose the award recipients.

 

Student Awards

  • Diversity in Action Award
    The Diversity Action Award acknowledges and honors the efforts of a student who strives to promote understanding and appreciation of diversity in its multitude of forms at Ohio Dominican University.

    The nominee must have demonstrated a commitment to promote an environment free from bias and discrimination; and/or worked to provide the university community with an experience rich in perspectives and opportunities to learn from each other. This student should have participated in or led a program or initiative that celebrates the diversity on our campus. 
  • Dominican Spirit Award
    This award recognizes an outstanding student who, in his or her daily life, exemplifies excellence in living out the Dominican motto, to contemplate truth and to share with others the fruits of this contemplation.

    This student consistently reflects what being Dominican is all about - a commitment to the pursuit of truth leading to a life of service; through study, prayer, community, and ministry. This student's beliefs and values should be in alignment through attitude and action with our Dominican mission. 
  • Emerging Leader Award
    This award recognizes an Ohio Dominican University student that is in at least one activity on campus, who most noticeably demonstrates initiative, motivation, and potential for continued student leadership to the University community. They should show great promise and enthusiasm about being a leader on campus by being involved in campus activities and have assured responsibility in their areas of participation. They should show great commitment for future participation and leadership on campus. 
  • Outstanding Leader Award
    This award recognizes an Ohio Dominican University student that is in one or more activities on campus that extends their involvement beyond the campus and into the community. This individual portrays both strong leadership characteristics and academic performance. They serve as a role model for the student body by volunteering, participating in events, excelling in school, reaching out to fellow students, and portrays an overall positive attitude. This leader consistently and unselfishly gives of themselves in efforts to enhance the spirit and community of Ohio Dominican. 
  • Panther Pride
    This award recognizes a student that has a made a commitment of pride to the Ohio Dominican community. They are visible at campus events, such as, but not limited to, athletic events, on and off campus arts events, student organization programming, residential programming, etc. They should be a student that is involved on campus and works in making Ohio Dominican University a home for others through a commitment to serving and helping build community both on and off campus.
  • Program of the Year

    This award is presented to the most outstanding program of the year sponsored by a university group, department, or student organization. This program must have taken place during the 2021-2022 academic year. To be eligible for this award, the program should have been enriching for the campus community by being social, cultural, and/or educational. This program should have been a program on campus that was highly advertised and built on the values of our Dominican mission.

  • Student Organization of the Year

    This award is presented to the student organization that has been a shining example to other organizations throughout the year. Considered factors are based upon all aspects of organizational responsibility, including, but not limited to, successful recruiting, organization management, active participation of membership, quality programming, education of the campus community, and impact on the greater Columbus community.
